Ray Rhodes is a DJ and producer who is based in Los Angeles. His original tracks “Turn Me On”, “In Another Life” and “Burning The Night Out” have all recently reached the top 10 on the U.K. club chart. Rhodes remixes span from Kygo to Lady Gaga and have led to many #1’s on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. He started his music career at LA radio station KBIG 104 as DJ and producer of “Disco Saturday Night” where his mixshow was #1 in the ratings during his time there. While behind the decks, Rhodes mixes his love for European music with his own production tracks to give his club goers an uplifting and energetic dance floor experience.
Currently he can be heard twice a month on Los Angeles dance radio station Mix93fm’s “Saturday Sessions” in addition at his weekly residency at The West Hollywood EDITION hotel.
Ray Rhodes is a DJ unlike any other with a truly versatile sound and an extensive library of music spanning from the 1950’s all the way to today. Being not just a DJ but also a VJ, his collection of music videos spans many decades, specializing in music videos from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Ray began his DJ career while attending UCLA when he joined the Los Angeles radio station KBIG 104 team as the DJ/music producer for “Disco Saturday Night,” which eventually evolved into 104.3 MYFM’s “Eight Hours of 80’s.” His mixshow was #1 in the ratings on Saturday nights in Los Angeles during his time there.
Ray Rhodes has also DJed at high profile events around the country including Gay Days Anaheim, the AIDS Project Los Angeles Summer Parties, The West Hollywood Halloween Carnivale, and Playboy Playmates Fight Night held in Washington. Plus he created the LGBTQ private party “Out on the Mountain” at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA, which has since become a hugely successful annual event at the park every August.
When asked about his reaction to the crowd from his bird’s eye view in the DJ booth, Ray said, “The most important thing is all the planning, research, and booking performers and then seeing everyone getting excited about it on the dance floor. They’re there because they want to be. They love us every week. And it is so cool to be able to make a living by making people happy through music.” Versatility is key and Ray delivers that in spades. It doesn’t matter where he’s playing music, his number 1 goal is always sharing great music to a hungry crowd who loves to dance
